Gradient Buttons

If you’re looking for a programmatic way to create buttons with background colors and don’t feel like messing with creating and/or stretching images, I’d recommend taking a look at Jeff LaMarche’s post on Programmatic Gradient Buttons.

Basically he’s created a UIButton subclass called GradientButton. You can a full project (including an example) on the iphonegradientbuttons Google code page, or just grab the GradientButton.[mh] classes below:
